The Amman Centennial Website brings together a history of Amman (with a special focus on the 20th century), an institutional history of Amman’s municipality and an interactive story telling section that allows people to share their own Amman memories and comment on stories published by others.
Spring was responsible to build the content management system behind the website which was designed by SYNTAX. The project was one of the toughest we had to work on, from one side we had the interactive nature of the web experience designed at the same time we had to make decisions that didn't sacrifice performance when displaying all the Flash interactive components implemented in the website. The website is 95% content managed, from the story of Amman, to the events, to the menu system. All was done using Drupal 6.0 and Adobe Flash technologies.
