A digital bridge connecting Palestinian volunteers to the organizations that need them.

BILBAAL is an online volunteering hub that connects people who want to serve the global Palestinian community with the organizations that need their support. The platform matches volunteers to opportunities based on skills, interests, and availability, making it easier for both sides to find each other.
Volunteers willing to support Palestinian organizations had no central place to find opportunities, and organizations had no efficient way to reach potential volunteers. The connection between supply and demand was manual, fragmented, and dependent on personal networks.
We focused on the matching problem at the platform's core, structuring the database to power an advanced search and matching engine that connects volunteers to relevant organizations based on skills and interests. Community management features and an event calendar keep users engaged beyond one-time sign-ups.
Built on Drupal 7, the platform features community management tools, an event calendar, user profiles for both volunteers and organizations, and an advanced search and matching system designed to surface the most relevant connections between people who want to help and organizations that need it.
BILBAAL gave the Palestinian volunteering community a dedicated platform. Instead of relying on word of mouth and scattered postings, volunteers and organizations can find each other through a structured, searchable system that grows more effective as the community grows.
