Frame it is an online platform that lets customers upload photos, choose frames, and order custom-framed prints without leaving home. We built the full eCommerce experience, from a built-in photo editor to checkout and order management, making the entire framing process as effortless as the memories themselves.
The Challenge
Custom photo framing has traditionally been an in-store experience. Frame it wanted to change that by bringing the entire process online. The challenge was building a platform that makes it genuinely easy for customers to upload, edit, preview, and order framed photos, all while giving the team a robust backend to manage products, orders, and reporting.
Our Approach
We leveraged Drupal Commerce to accelerate the eCommerce foundation, then built a custom photo editor layer on top that lets customers crop, adjust, and preview their photos in selected frames before purchasing. The backend was designed around operational efficiency: product management, order tracking, and reporting tools the team needs to run the business day to day.
Execution
Built on a LAMP stack with Drupal 7, the platform includes a custom photo editor for in-browser image editing, a full eCommerce CMS for catalog and order management, and built-in reporting tools. The architecture balances a rich front-end experience with a backend built for operational simplicity.
Impact
Frame it brought a traditionally offline service fully online. Customers can go from uploading a photo to placing an order in minutes, while the team manages the entire operation from a single platform with full visibility into sales and order data.
