A digital platform where Jordanian youth turn conversation into action.
Jeel962 is a civic engagement platform designed to connect Jordanian youth and channel their energy toward social change. We built an interactive space where users can connect, discuss issues that matter to them, and surface community concerns through tools like a complaints heatmap.
The Challenge
Jordanian youth had the energy for social change but lacked a dedicated digital space to connect and mobilize around shared concerns. The platform needed to go beyond basic social networking and provide tools that turn conversation into visible, actionable engagement.
Our Approach
We built interactive engagement tools designed to increase participation: social networking features for community building, a complaints heatmap that visualizes where issues are concentrated, and content tools that make it easy to share and discuss local and national topics.
Execution
Built on Yii2 with MySQL and an Android app, the platform features social networking capabilities, a geo-mapped complaints heatmap that visualizes community concerns by location, and interactive tools designed to drive participation and sustained engagement.
Impact
Jeel962 gave Jordanian youth a dedicated space to connect around civic issues. The complaints heatmap made community concerns visible and location-specific, turning individual frustrations into a collective picture that's harder to ignore.
